In late 2003, Lana spoke to my church about what was happening in Thailand and how she was trying to help. I felt that God was leading so I decided to go on a two week trip. That trip turned into six weeks and ultimately led to me moving here in November of 2004. One of the most amazing experiences has been to see not only how the children are physically rescued and healed, but also how the Lord heals them spiritually and emotionally.

I moved to Thailand in July of 2009. I’ve always had a heart for children, but it was during my senior year of high school that God told me I would be helping the poorest of the poor children. They had nothing, and I would share the love of God with them in the same way that He showed me. The next summer, I went on my very first missions trip to Thailand, and that’s when God told me I would move here to be a full-time missionary. I came the next year after finishing my second year of Bible School.

In the summer of 2011, we came on a short term missions trip to work with Life Impact International. We came to serve and to meet whatever needs the ministry had. We had no idea that those six weeks were going to radically change our lives forever. We fell in the love with the rescued children and the Thai/Burmese staff that are committed to raising these children in the ways of the Lord. God gave us a huge brokenness and compassion for the people of Thailand and Burma and compelled us through the Holy Spirit to not only come back to Thailand, but to commit ourselves to the ministry as full time missionaries. Our deepest desires are to love these people with the heart of God, to see them with God’s eyes, and to share the message of Jesus Christ to everyone we encounter.
Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will be my servant also.” John 12:25-26

After hearing, reading, and praying about the plight of the Burmese people for a few years, we were led to come to Thailand in 2009 for a short-term mission. We met and got involved with Lana, the staff, and children of Life Impact and were touched and very encouraged. We were asked to come again in December 2010 and our hearts were drawn closer to the ministry of Life Impact. Before and during those years we received various confirmations and promises assuring us that we were not too old. We had an opportunity to come again in 2011 after which we both felt that we needed to take the step of faith and come as full time missionaries in 2012.
Faithful is he who calls you, and he also will bring it to pass. 1 Thessalonians 5:24
